The Department provides One year course (Two Semesters) of the BLIS.

Any registered candidate may be admitted to the Degree of Bachelor of Library &Information Science, if he has:

Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in the Faculty of Arts Science or Commerce of a recognized University, or has passed an examination as equivalent. Department of library and Information Science educates students at the Degree,  to become leaders in library Science, archives, and information centers; conducts research to advance the information sciences. A Library plays a vital role in the search of knowledge. It serves as the workshop for the entire college – students and faculty alike. S.N. Sinha College Library aims to support the teaching learning activity in the college and also provide the students updated knowledge and to ensure the optimum utilization of the available resources. An academic library is a library that is attached to a higher education institution and serves two complementary purposes: to support the curriculum, and to support the research of the university faculty and students. It is unknown how many academic libraries there are worldwide.  All students must make use of the library facility to enrich their academic excellence. The department has experienced staff members having both teaching and industrial experience.
