The Palidepartment is an academic department dedicated to the study and preservation ofthe Pali language and literature. Pali is an ancient Indian language that isclosely associated with the Theravada tradition of Buddhism. It is consideredthe canonical language of the Pali Tipitaka, which comprises the scriptures ofTheravada Buddhism.

The primaryfocus of the Pali department is to teach and promote the understanding of  Pali language and its literary works. Studentswho study Pali gain a deep insight into the teachings of the Buddha and theearly Buddhist texts. They learn to read, write, and speak Pali, enabling themto access the original scriptures and delve into the rich philosophical andspiritual teachings.
